Graham Nash, Aimee Mann also on concert series schedule.

Soul songstress Aretha Franklin will make her Martha’s Vineyard debut in August, and not a moment too soon. Franklin, 75, so far has only eight concerts over five months scheduled for what show organizers say will be her farewell tour, and one will be for the Martha’s Vineyard Concert Series.

Musicians Aimee Mann and Graham Nash also are on the series schedule, which will open with storyteller Garrison Keillor on Memorial Day weekend.

The series is curated by Vineyarder Adam Epstein and Chicago-based live-event producer Innovation Arts & Entertainment. The schedule announced so far (at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown unless otherwise indicated): May 28, at the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center in Oak Bluffs, NPR host/author Keillor with musicians Robin and Linda Williams; June 28 (at the MVPAC), Aimee Mann; July 6, musician Loudon Wainwright III; July 13, at The Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs, band Pink Martini; July 18, Graham Nash; and July 29, acoustic duo Jackopierce.

Also: Aug. 15, at the MVPAC, Capitol Steps comedy troupe in “Orange Is the New Barack”; Aug. 19, at the Tabernacle, Franklin; Aug. 21, Dirty Dozen Brass Band; and Aug. 23, at the MVPAC, multi-genre band Black Violin.

Tickets are on sale to members now, and the sale date for non-member tickets will be announced soon. Information: www.MVConcertSeries.com.
